Boquete is a small town tucked away high at 2,800m in the Chiriquí highlands of Panama. The best way to reach Boquete is by taking a 45-minute bus ride from David. You will without a doubt love not only its unique landscapes but its small-town charm. It truly is a hidden gem.

Explore downtown
The downtown of Boquete combines the unique culture of Panama with that of a small town. Boquete is home to many family-run restaurants and businesses which will surely make you feel at home and welcomed.

Los Quetzales Trail
The Los Quetzales Trail links Boquete to the Chiriquí highlands as it passes through the Volcan Baru National Park. This trail is home to an amazing waterfall and a chance to spot the elusive Quetzal bird.

Horseback Ride
Due to Boquete's unique landscape, many companies offer horseback riding here. I went with Franklin's Horseback Riding and was able to see both the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea at the same time.

Volcán Barú
Volcán Barú is an active stratovolcano and the tallest mountain in Panama, at 3,475 meters high.
