Lima
Lima, the capital of Peru, is the second-largest desert city in the world behind Cairo, Egypt. Lima is located between the Pacific Ocean and the Andean Mountain range. Lima is also known as the gastronomic capital of the Americas, and after my time in Lima, I can completely vouch for this.
What to do in Lima

Larcomar
Larcomar is a shopping center in the Miraflores district of Lima. Larcomar is not only home to some of the best restaurants and shops in Lima but is also home to some of Peru's best views. This is due to its location being on the side of a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Downtown
Downtown Lima is home to several plazas and cathedrals, one of which is known as Kennedy Park. This is home to hundreds of stray cats that will gladly accompany you on a bench.

Miraflores
I recommend staying in the Miraflores district for both its amazing views and overall safety. One could walk along the sidewalk looking over the ocean day or night and feel safe as they see the beauty of Lima. Also, it is home to some of the best crepes I have ever had.
